GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A safety mission in Brown County that targeted reckless driving resulted in more than 500 citations and 48 arrests.
The effort took place over the course of nine days in September. It involved Ashwaubenon Public Safety, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Green Bay Police Department, and Wisconsin State Patrol.
The most notable offenses included:
Speeding:
108 citations
150 warnings
Seatbelt Violations:
74 citations
5 warnings
Operating While Intoxicated (OWI):
24 arrests
Other:
10 warrant arrests
8 drug arrests
3 felony arrests
3 misdemeanor arrests
In addition, there were also violations of child restraint, operating after revocation/operating after suspension, registration, equipment, and more.
The mission was funded with grant assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
