Joshua Walcott (Manitowoc Co. Jail)
MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A jury convicted Joshua Walcott Friday of first-degree intentional homicide for the May 2021 murder of Malachi Moore.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 11. A life prison term is mandatory, but Judge Jerilyn Dietz will decide if Walcott, 21, will ever becoming eligible for parole and, if so, when.
Walcott was also convicted of bail jumping, possession of a firearm by a felon, and two counts sexual assault of a child.
According to the criminal complaint, Walcott and Moore were arguing over who made more money. A witness said the argument grew more intense and the two were getting in each other’s faces. The witness said Walcott grabbed a gun from on top of a dresser and began waving it around, eventually firing the shot that killed Moore.
