CLINTONVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The victim of a Clintonville murder is the suspect’s mother, and Jordan Peters had been planning the murder for about a week.
Peters, 19, was arrested Monday after the death of a 39-year-old woman. During a news conference Tuesday, police declined to identify the victim or her relationship with the victim.
However, police submitted a probable cause statement to a judge Tuesday, seeking to have a bond set for Peters while the investigation continues. A $1 million cash bond was set, and Peters is expected in court Monday. Formal charges have not been filed yet.
The probable cause statement was filed by Officer Matthew Wright. It offers more details than Tuesday’s news conference did, although the victim’s name was redacted.
“The male suspect identified as JORDAN D. PETERS stated he stabbed her and threw a closed a knife at my feet. I took the JORDAN D. PETERS into custody and placed him in the back seat of my squad. The Clintonville Area Ambulance service and officers on scene provided medical aid to (redacted) until she was flown to THEDA CARE NEENAH. While providing medical aid to (redacted) she stated to me that her son JORDAN stabbed her. (Redacted) was later pronounced deceased at THEDA CARE NEENAH. I later read JORDAN D. PETERS his Miranda rights and he agreed to talk to me. JORDAN D. PETERS admitted to stabbing (redacted) once in the chest. JORDAN D. PETERS said that he had been planning on killed (redacted) for about a week,” the report states.
Police have requested a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
