GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new scholarship program is helping area technical college students pursue public safety careers.
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) says it received $15,000 from AT&T as part of the company’s philanthropic giving efforts.
The new scholarship program was unveiled during NWTC’s Public Safety and Human Services Career Fair Monday where area employers from fire, police and EMS networked with students searching for work, internships and information.
“NWTC is focused on helping students succeed no matter where they are in their life journey or what their financial circumstances may be. As we continue to reimagine how NWTC supports students at all stages of their life, it’s exciting to partner with local businesses to prioritize educating our workforce,” said vice president for college advancement at NWTC, Meridith Jaeger.
Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing law enforcement, correctional services or emergency and fire management careers.
Interested applicants should apply by April 30 to be considered.
