GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Green Bay Police are investigating two suspicious deaths on the city’s east side near the border of Green Bay and Bellevue.
Police say two females were found dead in a duplex late Sunday morning.
Green Bay police were sent to the 1600 block of Elkay Lane after receiving a call from a neighbor.
“We were called from a neighbor who saw the person injured and called us and saying they found an injured person,” says Green Bay Police Captain, Jeff Brester.
After police arrived on the scene, they entered the home and discovered two bodies.
“They found two females deceased within the duplex, as of right now we have the scene secured and we are waiting for a search warrant to complete the rest of our investigation,” says Brester.
Officials were not able to comment on injuries to the victims or the cause of the death.
“Still unknown, yes…as you can see we haven’t even processed the scene completely so we are still trying to gather some information,” says Brester.
Police blocked off the entire duplex with crime scene tape.
Detectives and the department’s crime scene unit could be seen going in and out of the right side of the duplex throughout the day.
Brester explained why the deaths are considered suspicious.
“It’s suspicious, anytime we find two people deceased in a residence, it’s suspicious. Again we haven’t been able to process the scene so I can’t even explain to you now why they died, how it happened, what’s inside the house, what’s not.”
He also commented on how concerned the community should be.
“Right now this appears to be an isolated incident from what we can tell so far, right now we don’t have anything specifically that says our community is in danger right now, but if anything does come up we will share that with everybody to assist us in the investigation.”
