GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Packers will be crossing the northern border this preseason.
On Wednesday, the Oakland Raiders announced their game against the Packers on August 22 will be held at IG Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
The Raiders, who are moving to Las Vegas in 2020, had been looking for a site for the game and were rumored to be considering Canada for the past several months.
Tickets for the game go on sale at 10 a.m. CDT Saturday.
Prices for tickets range anywhere from $75 to $340 Canadian.
IG Field seats 33,000 people is the home stadium of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.
This will be the Packers’ first game outside the United States since they played the Kansas City Chiefs in Tokyo in the 1998 preseason.
Additionally, this will be their first game in Canada since they played the Buffalo Bills in Toronto in 1997.
