KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ) – A fire inside of a Kaukauna basement was caused because of a dehumidifier.
Crews were called to a home on Gertrude Street around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning and upon arrival crews saw moderate smoke coming from the basement door and windows.
Flames were originating from the dehumidifier and quickly put out by firefighters.
The home sustained about $5,000 worth of smoke and water damage.
Two residents were home at the time of the fire and they were able to make it out safely with their pet dog.
