GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Community is saying goodbye to a longtime elementary school.
Baird Elementary held an open house Sunday to give the community a chance to see the building one more time before its demolished on June 24th.
Two years ago, voters approved a referendum to build a new elementary school, which can hold 600 students.
Current and former students say while they are excited about the new building, they will miss the memories of the old one.
Construction of the new building will be complete by August, just in time for the new school year.
