GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Police Department and Parking Utility want to ensure everyone has ample parking for the holiday.
In years past, there were a lot of questions pertaining to parking.
Specifically where the ramps are located, fees, and the distances from Leicht Park.
Police Commander Kevin Warych says they are looking to help solve a big problem from last year.
“There were a lot of complaints about parking. The Police Department has been working to make sure the community knows where they can and where they cannot park.”

Warych says they encourage all drivers to use the city parking ramps and or street parking.
Also, there will be no-charge parking in all City-owned parking facilities on Thursday, July 4, 2019 onlyIt is also expected to be another busy weekend on the Fox River in the city of Green Bay.
Green Bay Police are reminding all boaters to be safe, know the navigational rules, and be courteous of other boaters. One of the most common violations are the “Right of Way” and the posted “No Wake” zones.
Also, the Marine unit wants to remind all boaters about the mooring rules for the holiday.
City Deck will have designated “No Parking” areas specifically for the Waterboard Warriors Ski Show.
All boaters are asked to adhere to these mooring restrictions.
Other portions of city deck will be available for mooring.
At the conclusion of the show, the entire city deck will available for all boats.
It is important to note that these areas will be affected by the wakes/waves caused by the boats. During the fireworks show, there will be an established “safety zone” for the fireworks that no boats will be allowed to be in.
“People decide to park anywhere they feel it is convenient to watch the fireworks show, and once the fireworks shoot off, there is an area that we designate as the zone where no boats are able to moor.”
The Marine Unit and the U.S. Coast Guard will be enforcing this zone. Generally, boaters will not be able to be anchored anywhere on the river from the main street bridge to the north to the east river. 9.52 VESSEL DOCKING ALONG SIDE CITY PROPERTY.(1) No person shall dock any boat or other vessel at any City-owned property abutting any body of water within the corporate limits of the City except in conformity with regulations regarding docking at facilities created for such purpose or, where such facilities do not exist, by permit issued by the Director of Public Works or his designee. The 4th of July festivities are held for everyone so the Green Bay Police Department’s Marine Unit encourages everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
