GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — If you notice police presence near Green Bay’s Bay Beach Amusement Park, not to worry, it may be part of a series of planned training exercises.
The Green Bay Police Department alongside fire, EMA, and other emergency officials from Brown County will participate in a large-scale joint training exercise to practice response for an active threat incident.
The exercise will take part on various undisclosed weekdays, beginning this week, through the week of Oct. 24, in the vicinity of Bay Beach Amusement Park from the hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be road closures associated with the training.
- The intersection of N. Irwin Avenue at E. Shore Drive to the west end of Bay Beach Amusement Park will be closed, however the Children’s Museum of Green Bay will still be accessible for patrons
- All of Bay Beach Amusement Park including the small park/picnic areas on the property will be closed
- The bike/walking path along the Bay at Bay Beach Amusement Park will be closed
