(WTAQ-WLUK) — Road work is set to begin on a highway in Waupaca.
Gov. Evers signed a $4.4 million contract to improve U.S. Highway 10 westbound, between Anderson Road and Appletree Lane.
Work is scheduled to begin May 4, 2026.
Work includes completing joint repairs and replacement, replacing the asphalt shoulders, replacing guardrail, inlet repairs as needed, new pavement marking and replacing curb ramps that are not compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
During construction, U.S. Highway 10, WIS 49 and WIS 22 (Lakeside Parkway) will have single lane closures. US 10 ramps at WIS 49, WIS 22 and Churchill Street will also have short duration closures. Temporary pedestrian accommodations will be provided during removal and replacement of the existing sidewalk.
Construction is expected to be complete by July 31, 2026. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
