NORTHEAST WI, (WTAQ) – The wind and rain on Monday has led to warnings and street closures.
National Weather Service officials have issued a gale warning over Lake Michigan until Tuesday night.
The NWS says winds of 30 knots and wave heights of six feet can turn into gusts of 40 knots. Wave heights can also increase to 21 feet.
In Suamico, village leaders say the following roads were closed:
- Riverside Drive just east of Mink Ranch Road
- Longtail Beach Lane
- Sunset Beach Road just before the Suamico Boat Launch
Meanwhile, several streets are also closed in Oconto because of flooding.
Rains and strong winds were also pushing water from Green Bay onto the city streets.
Tuesday the winds continue to be gusty as they turn to the west-southwest at 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts to 35 mph. Expect cloudy skies and scattered showers. The rain should be much lighter than Monday’s precipitation. It will be cooler with highs only reaching the upper 40s, likely before noon.
