SHAWANO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – Rain, wind, and snow is causing issues for Thanksgiving travelers today.
Drivers heading west should be prepared for slippery roads and heavy snowfall. Heavy snow is falling northwest of a line from Marshfield through Menominee County, WI and to Wausaukee.
This area will see 6 to 12 inches of snow by the time the system moves on this afternoon.
Wind will be a big concern closer to the Lake Michigan shoreline and into the Fox Valley.
This could result in power outages and tree limbs could be blown down. There are several weather alerts.
Thanksgiving Day will be quiet. It will be mostly cloudy with a high of 36.
Black Friday will be cloudy with a high of 37, snow showers will develop late in the day.
Those snow showers are the beginning of another Weathermaker that could create more travel troubles for the weekend, with more accumulating snow and a wintry mix in the region, especially Saturday night into Sunday.
