WAUKESHA, WI (WRN) – Another court ruling signals the end of a Republican elections investigation.
A Waukesha County judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit that sought to contest a number of subpoenas issued by the now closed Office of Special Counsel.
Those subpoenas targeted several mayors, including Green Bay Mayor Erich Genrich, and members of the Wisconsin Elections commission.
Former special counsel Mike Gableman tried to compel the leaders to testify about the 2020 presidential election, but he was fired earlier this month by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos for endorsing Vos’ primary opponent.
The final cost of that investigation was over a million dollars and yielded no evidence of voter fraud.
