FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ) – St. Mary High School and Middle School in Fox Crossing were closed Thursday due to a possible threat.
Officials says those threats happened just after midnight.
The suspect is a 20-year-old man who sent threats to a female victim over Snapchat.
“A 16-year-old student of the high school had received a series of social media messages that lead the student to believe that there was potentially going to be a violent incident,” Officer Jason Weber said.
Officers went to the schools and found an open door at each school.
They did a sweep of the facilities and nothing suspicious was found.
The school was reopened in time for after-school activities.
School officials say safety of students and staff is the most important priority.
The investigation continues.
