OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The photo of the Nazi flag being flown in Oshkosh, has been shared thousands of times on social media.
But now a person, who did not fly the flag, says she’s being threatened.
Rosangela Diaz telling WLUK she, her husband and four children no longer feel safe in their Oshkosh home.
“There’s people across the world who are threatening us”
She says her car has already been vandalized. The threats are even more violent.
“Sending bombs to the house, to burn down the whole house. I had a couple people threaten to send anthrax in the mail.”
According to Diaz, this is because her neighbors hung up a Nazi flag.
Diaz lives in the front of the duplex, the neighbor at the back.
A photo of the flag with Diaz’s address was posted to Facebook over the weekend. Diaz says she did not even see the flag until she saw the Facebook post.
The property owner is Grant Schwab who released a statement: “Schwab Properties shares the community’s outrage at this unprecedented display. We do not condone this tenant’s actions or share this tenant’s beliefs in any way.”
The landlord says the tenant chose to take down the flag before being asked to do so.
Now Diaz is begging people to leave her family alone.
“I’m terribly concerned about the safety of my kids”
Diaz said the landlord has promised to move her family if another location becomes available.
Oshkosh’s city manager declined to comment on the story.
