GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A Green Bay apartment building had to be evacuated due to a fire Monday.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department says unattended cooking caused the fire at Nicolet Apartments, located at 221 Huth Street.
Blankets were distributed to residents while they waited for the fire to be put out. Some residents were also taken from the scene by bus.
“They have a city electrical inspector coming so hopefully they’re able to turn on power to some parts of the building at least get a majority of the residents back in sometime today,” Green Bay Metro Fire Lt. Nick Craig told FOX 11.
No one was hurt and the damages are estimated to be $125,000.
