KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ)- Police in Kaukauna say they found hazardous meth-making material as they were trying to locate a shoplifting suspect in a wooded area Thursday.
The pursuit led them to Konkopat Trail.
Officer took the suspect into custody, and the hazmat team was called in to clean the area.
Police were originally called to the Piggly Wiggly on East Ann Street Thursday morning. They say they arrived to see employees and a citizen attempting to detain a man.
Due to the danger of the materials, the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations clandestine lab team was called to properly process and clean the scene.
A 28-year-old Oshkosh man was arrested due to an outstanding warrant, police say.
The case remains under investigation.
