GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Very hot weather is upon us in Northeast Wisconsin, and it will stick around through Tuesday.
Temperatures will get into the mid 90s with heat indexes over 100.
“High pressure across the central midwest is bringing in hot air over portions of the western Great Lakes,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Roy Eckberg.
Monday, a high of 94 with a heat index above 100 is expected around mid-day. Tomorrow, we’re expecting to see a high around 97 with a heat index that could get as high as 110.
As you may be able to guess, it’s not going to be a dry heat, either. It’s going to be sticky and muggy.
“Heat exhaustion and heat stroke and the main concerns,” said Eckberg. “Drink plenty of fluids if outdoors, avoid exercising during the heat of the day, and take plenty of breaks.”
Cooler air moves in Wednesday bringing highs into the mid 80s.
