NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) – Authorities have released the name of the man who died in a Neenah duplex fire Monday.
40-year-old Jason Hendricks was found in the living room when fire fighters arrived at 1339 Primrose Lane around 9:30 p.m.
“We’re not certain if he was sleeping at the time. We believe he may have been in the living room; he possibly dozed off in the recliner,” says Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Vernon Green.
The blaze started in the garage and expanded throughout the attic of the home.
Crews say they cannot rule out three potential causes of ignition. Officials found smoking materials in a small plastic trash can, rags, possibly used for cleaning, electrical wiring, cords and power strips in the area where the fire is believed to have started.
A damage estimate has not been determined as the investigation continues.
