OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – The U.S. Army has ordered 771 more vehicles from Oshkosh Defense.
The $159.6 million order is for models from Oshkosh’s Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles line.
Pat Williams, vice president and general manager of Army and Marine Corps programs at Oshkosh Defense, said in a news release.
“Oshkosh is eager to continue delivering on Army and Air Force requirements for a well protected, versatile vehicle that supports a broad range of missions, both at home and abroad. With the most recent award, Oshkosh will surpass the production of the 28,000th vehicle under the current A1P2 contract.”
The current generation of FMTV is made up of 17 models, with the ability to carry between 2.5 and 10 tons.
The vehicles are used to support combat missions, in relief efforts and help in logistics and supply operations.
The contract was first awarded in 2009.
