GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The presidential primary season is coming to an end. Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee.
The controversial businessman has been slowly picking up endorsements from more mainstream republicans.
But not House Speaker Paul Ryan…..at least not yet.
On WTAQ’s Jerry Bader Show, Ryan says he’s had positive conversations with Trump. But he wants to make sure there’s agreement on Republican principals.
“standing on our commonly held principals and the policies that flow from those things. and including all Republicans in the tent and not excluding any Republicans”
Ryan says his job is to join the party factions heading into the November elections.
How to beef up defense, how to wipe out ObamaCare, how to improve the economy.
“give us a government…a President and a Congress that can do this. And then this is our agenda for 2017”
Ryan says “faking” party unity won’t help the G-O-P win in November. Especially independent voters.
