GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Farmers’ Market on Broadway kicked off its 13th season Wednesday, but not all the vendors were welcomed back from previous years.
On Broadway, Inc. cut the number of vendors by 18 percent from last year.
Ahnna Dexter is a project manager for On Broadway.
“The past few years it’s been very, very congested. “We wanted to give people an opportunity to walk around to really be able to mingle, walk on the sidewalk, and if they want to obviously visit the Broadway businesses.”
The walkability and providing more exposure for the district’s businesses were the main factors.
Some of the district’s businesses also requested the reduction.
The market had about 300 vendor applicants, so it turned away about half of that number.
The market runs from 3 to 8 p.m. It takes place every Wednesday from now until October 5th.
