APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – This season’s outbreak of influenza is causing ThedaCare and Affinity Health System to ask family and friends to limit their hospital visits.
Doctors indicate the reduced visits will help prevent flu from spreading. This limitation is only for folks visiting others who are in the hospital.
People who feel sick enough to seek medical attention should still do so.
The best way to protect yourself is to wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water. You can also use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
The latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention surveillance report shows influenza is widespread in Wisconsin.
