GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – On Saturday morning, shortly after 5 am, officers from the Green Bay Police Department responded to the intersection of Western Avenue and Perkins Avenue, located on the west side of Green Bay, for a report of shots fired and a person down in the street.
Officers arrived within seconds and located a 34-year-old male with severe injuries. Lifesaving measures were immediately attempted but the male was unable to be revived. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.
Detectives, along with the GBPD Forensic Unit were summoned and responded to assist with this incident. This is an ongoing investigation, and the scene and surrounding areas will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for the next several hours.
While this is believed to be an isolated incident, the public is reminded to be cautious, know your surroundings and report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
