GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A song of prayer plays inside of Notre Dame Academy’s chapel on Friday, but mostly silence fills the room.
As students and community members pray for peace in war torn Ukraine.
Principal Patrick Browne says the war isn’t staying present in the minds of many around the world.
“One of the real tragedies in this is, we’re getting used to the fact that there’s a war in Ukraine.”
He says it’s just becoming another event happening in every day life.
A reason they want to get people into this holy place.
“One of our Catholic practices is adoration, which is simply spending time in the chapel,” said Browne. “And we have decided that we would have a 24 hour period of prayer.”
The school telling alumni, students and families about the opportunity for prayer.
Browne saying the response has been fantastic.
