GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Next week is Work Zone Awareness week in Wisconsin.
It’s no coincidence that it comes as the spring construction season begins.
Mark Kantola with WisDOT says to pay attention in work zones.
“There can be no distractions whatsoever when you’re in a project work zone or if you see orange cones,” Kantold told WTAQ.
Wisconsin law prohibits texting while driving on any road. It is also illegal to use a hand-held mobile device in work zones.
Among those are resurfacing on I-43 in Brown and Manitowoc Counties, the Highway 29 and VV Interchange, and reconstruction on Highway 15.
