WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – The preliminary report on last month’s fatal seaplane crash on Lake Winnebago has been released.
Rough lake conditions have been deemed partially responsible for the July 27 accident during EAA AirVenture that claimed two lives.
Authorities initially believed the plane hit a wave upon takeoff.
The report says one witness described the waves as being up to two feet tall.
The final report is still being compiled.
