ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) -Ashwaubenon Public Safety is asking for your help in identifying the suspects in a Monday afternoon drive-by shooting.
Shortly before 2 pm, investigators say a female was on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of Pilgrim Way when a smaller, white, 4-door vehicle approached her and fired off several rounds striking the victim in the leg with a BB or pellet.
The victim could not identify the people who shot her and investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating possible suspects.
Captain Jody Crocker says “at the emergency room, they weren’t able to remove the projectile, so she ended up having to go into surgery to have that removed.”
At this point, Crocker notes there is no information to believe the woman was targeted, with the suspects possibly being kids who thought they were being funny.
However, Crocker says it is anything but.
“Our concern is that if that projectile would have struck her in the neck or in the eye, it could have been a fatal injury.”
