ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – The latest development in Ashwaubenon’s new Titletown District has been unveiled.
Packers officials say the park will open September 15.
The artificial football field is already complete, with Packers Vice President Ed Policy saying it was made possible by a partnership with Nike.
“The infield of the football field is a product called Nike grind, and it is actually ground up old tennis shoes.”
The field will be open to the public and can also be reserved.
Playground equipment has also already been installed, with cheese-structured items intended for preschoolers and younger children and other items aimed at helping young football players or other athletes exercise and train.
While some items will be ready to use next week, the snow-tubing hill won’t open until November.
The stairs on the side of the hill include technology that will help melt snow, and a tube return machine will run along those stairs.
Policy says the hill and building beneath it, which has a cafe area that can hold up to 80 people and event space that accommodate another 200, will complete Titletown’s first phase.
Officials also say more information will be released next month about a building that will constructed next to Hinterland Brewery.
An announcement about planned commercial buildings and condos is expected later in the year.
The September 15 grand opening event will run from 3-7:30 pm, with activities from exercise and wellness classes to chess lessons to live music, outdoor games, and face painting.
