GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Students at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College will soon be able enjoy a brand new 94-thousand-square-foot state of the art building.
The college’s Business Information Technology building is currently undergoing an 8.5-million-dollar renovation and expansion project.
It is being funded by money approved in a 2015 referendum.
Randy Smith, Dean of Business Information Technology, says students will be able to experience 21st century learning
“The instructor can be able to conduct a class with face to face students, but also be linked with students throughout the district, so they can be taking a class from their home.”
Not only are the renovations going to help beautify the building, it’s also going to provide collaborative ways for students to learn.
Julie Ebben-Matzke, Associate Dean of Business Information Technology, says n IT help desk will also be one of the new additions, which will allow for hands-on learning.
“Student ran help desk, that student ran help desk will be service learning, as well, and we will instill in our students the need for service learning beyond the classroom “
NWTC says phase one of the project, which includes the right wing of the building will be done by the start of Fall semester.
