GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — One of three Georgia-Pacific mills in Green Bay is closing.
The company says it plans to close its facility on Day Street over the next 18 months.
Tissue manufacturing will end in mid-May, with other parts of the mill shutting down in September. Napkins will continue to be made until the fall of 2023, according to the company.
About 190 employees work at the mill, and the company says they will have the opportunity to apply for open roles at its other Green Bay facilities.
The company operates two other mills in the city: one on Mason Street and the other on Broadway. The decision does not affect those facilities.
