GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Restoration work has wrapped up on a Brown County landmark that has been standing for more than a century. Construction on the County Courthouse’s dome began in May.
“We didn’t want any of the historic paint or plaster damaged and due to the age and condition, it was time to do the work we’ve done.”
County Facilities Engineer Doug Marsh says the dome has a new coat of copper, repaired clock faces, and a restored limestone base.
He notes the $1.6-million dollar cost was included in the county budget.
All the scaffolding should be removed by the end of next week.
