GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ)- One person is still missing after falling through the ice just before midnight Friday.
Green Bay Metro Fire Department was called out to East River near Quincy Street at 11:32pm.
A rescue operation was underway for 40 minutes, but was then stopped and will resume as a recovery operation this morning.
Rescue officials say the 40 minute window was the available time for survivability.
Footprints leading to a hole in the ice were identified by those on scene.
Fire officials say temperatures have not been cold enough for solid ice development and people should stay off the ice.
