GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ)- It’s the final day for the Salvation Army Christmas Campaign, and there is still more work to do.
“The Christmas campaign accounts for nearly two-thirds of our budget.”
Nick Meisner of the Greater Green Bay Salvation Army says they are at about 75 percent of their goal heading into today, but there is still more work to be done with the Red Kettles.
Meisner says their are at about 55 percent of the Red Kettle goal, but have one more big day scheduled.
“You know putting a few quarters in, if you think that will not make a difference, you are incorrect.”
Meisner says, they have faith that their goal of 1.1 million dollars will be met.
“Every single year we are completely floored by the support of the people in the Greater Green Bay area.”
He added being a little short heading into home stretch is not unusual.
“We really see a big boost in the last two weeks of the campaign.”
The money collected stays local.
Bell ringing will wrap up Saturday.
