The St. Norbert Women’s basketball team may have picked up their biggest victory in the two seasons under Head Coach Amanda Leonhard-Perry. The Green Knights knocked off 15th ranked team in Division III and unbeaten Wisconsin Lutheran 59-56 at the Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center Tuesday night. It snapped Lutheran’s 23 game winning streak going back to last year.
St. Norbert scored the game’s first 8 points and led 14-2 after the opening quarter. The lead swelled to 23-5 before Wisconsin Lutheran mounted a comeback. They had possession in the final five seconds but never got a shot off preserving the upset victory. Kaycee Gierczak led the scoring with 14 points, Olivia DeCleene added 10 for the Knights who improved to 17-7 on the season, 14-3 in NACC play. Wisconsin Lutheran is now 20-1 overall, they’ve already clinched the conference title with a 15-1 record.
