Green Bay, WI, (WTAQ) – The annual Salvation Army “Tools For Schools” program has it’s distribution today (Monday)…and, unfortunately, business is good.
The Salvation Army’s Community Center gym in Green Bay is the focal point of the distribution.
Nan Paul is Director of Social Services. She says hundreds of families pre-registered to come in to pick up the supplies.
And calls “Tools For Schools” is a crucial component in the in their clients back to school budgeting.
Supplies wind up in the hands hundreds of kids who need them.
Last year, more than 700 students received assistance.
The expectation is at least that many will take advantage of the program this year.
Without the help, many kids would start the school year without the necessities. Items are donated by retailers like Shopko.
