OCONTO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – Two teens are in custody following a high speed chase in a stolen vehicle.
At about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Brown County Sheriff’s deputies started a pursuit with a vehicle that drove away from a traffic stop in Howard.
Officials say the vehicle went north on Interstate 41 at speeds up to 100 mph.
The chase entered Oconto County, where the stolen vehicle lost control and went off the road on County Highway I, west of Highway 141.
Brown County deputies used their squad cars to keep the vehicle from driving off.
Two teens were taken into custody.
Investigators say a handgun was discovered in the stolen vehicle.
Two squads and the suspect vehicle were damaged in the chase.
A Brown County deputy and one of the suspects suffered minor injuries.
During the incident, a vehicle hit a utility pole and Wisconsin Public Service was called to restore a power outage.
Charges are being filed against the suspects.
