GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The former Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the D.A.R.E. program made his first court appearance Tuesday.
A judge set a signature bond of $25,000 for Kevin Vanden Heuvel. He is due back in court September 29.
Vanden Heuvel was busted last October in the alleged scheme. According to court documents, Vanden Heuvel would hand out fake parking passes on Green Bay Packers game days and pocket the cash.
It’s still not known how much money was taken. The money, from parking cars in the Kmart lot, was supposed to be used for the D.A.R.E. program.
Vanden Heuvel is facing 4 felony counts, including 2 charges of theft by an employee and 2 counts of misconduct in office.
