WARRENSBURG, MO (WTAQ-WLUK)The attorneys for man who allegedly killed Nick and Justin Diemel want the June 6 trial postponed, court records show.
Garland Nelson allegedly killed the Shawano County brothers, who went to Nelson’s farm in northwestern Missouri related to the cattle business. Court documents allege Nelson fatally shot the brothers who came to collect a $250,000 check.
Nelson’s attorneys made the request Monday, but no decision was made. Instead, another hearing was set for next Monday, according to Missouri court records.
A three-week trial is planned.
The trial has been postponed one previous time already.
Nelson also faces federal charges on mail fraud, but no hearings have been held on that matter.
