GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Four major Northeast Wisconsin newspapers will stop delivering Saturday print editions.
Parent company Gannett says the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Appleton Post-Crescent, Oshkosh Northwestern and Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter will only offer digital editions on Saturdays.
Newspapers in Sheboygan, Wausau, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids and Marshfield are also affected.
“This decision better aligns our resources to maintain strong local reporting across our nationwide network, to better serve our partners, and to accelerate our digital future holistically for the benefit of our loyal subscribers and advertisers,” Gannett senior director of corporate commnunications Heather Gidaly said in an email to FOX 11.
“We recognize and appreciate the deep loyalty our longtime subscribers have to our daily newspapers and are committed to delivering a quality product as we execute our subscription-led business strategy.”
A story in the newspapers says the change will take place in March.
