(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers’ eight-game winning streak ended last night with a 5-3 home loss to Atlanta. The Braves scored twice in each of the first two innings and never trailed after that. Kelly Johnson hit a two-run homer and an R-B-I single to give Atlanta its fifth victory in its last six. Rookie Matt Wisler struck out six Brewers in five-and-two-thirds’ innings. He allowed three runs on seven hits, as he improved to 3-1. Jason Grilli pitched a scoreless ninth for his 23rd save. Kyle Lohse dropped to 5-10, as he gave up four runs on eleven hits in five frames. He snapped a personal two-game winning streak. Milwaukee scored its runs on a solo homer from Gerardo Parra, and singles from Shane Peterson and Carlos Gomez. Parra also doubled, as the Brewers were out-hit 15-8. The loss drops the Crew to three games behind fourth-place Cincinnati in the N-L Central. The Brewers will host the Braves again tonight.
