GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A home and three vehicles on a property on Green Bay’s west side were hit by gunshots overnight.
Green Bay police say they were called to the home in the 800 block of Hubbard Street around 12:45 a.m. They discovered bullets had gone through the walls of the home.
Although there were people at home, no one was injured.
Investigators also discovered 30 shell casings from a small-caliber handgun.
“That is a significant amount of gunfire,” said Police Lt. Brad Strouf. “We’re talking about something that people are going to hear and report quickly, and that officers will respond to quickly, which was the case with this.
Small caliber handgun magazines typically have a capacity of between eight and 17 rounds on average, meaning there were either multiple shooters, the shooter reloaded, or used an aftermarket, higher-capacity magazine. Strouf says detectives aim to determine that during the investigation, and will focus on whether or not the shooting was targeted.
“When we have someone shooting 30 rounds of live ammo at a house in the general public, there is always some sense of danger,” Strouf told WTAQ. “But we have no indication that whoever did this is going to continue to do this.”
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (920) 448-3200.
