(WNFL) Milwaukee, WI – Carlos Martinez racked up 11 strikeouts in his eighth win as the Cardinals roughed up the Brewers 8-1 at Miller Park. Aledmys Diaz drilled a three-run homer for St. Louis, with Jhonny Peralta and Tommy Pham adding solo shots. Diaz hit his home run in the ninth inning off reliever Michael Blazek. It was part of a five-run inning that broke the game open. The rubber match is Sunday. Chase Anderson who lasted just four innings fell to 4-and-10 for Milwaukee. Kirk Nieuwenhuis singled in the Crew’s only run.
