OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – A man was taken into custody after an incident forced Oshkosh Police to block off a busy downtown stretch on Saturday night.
Officers responded the to 400 block of North Main Street for a 22-year-old man who was suicidal, and was carrying a handgun. Businesses in the area were evacuated or locked down as police negotiated with the man.
After a short standoff, he surrendered the gun and was peacefully taken into custody. There is no further danger to the public from this incident.
