The Green Bay Phoenix rolled Oakland 83-63 Saturday before 6000 fans at the Resch Center to wrap up the regular season and send four seniors out in style. Josh Humprhies, Alfonzo McKinnie, Greg Mays and Keifer Sykes were honored before the game. Sykes and Mays each scored 21 in the victory lifting Green Bay to a 23-7 regular season, a 12-4 record in the Horizon League. The defending conference champs have to settle for the number two seed in this week’s Horizon League tournament but they earned a double bye into the semifinals where they will play Saturday night at number one seed Valpariaso.
The Green Bay women return for their senior day this Saturday against Detroit after routing Youngstown State 73-27 in Ohio over the weekend. The 27 points allowed was the fewest under head coach Kevin Borseth as Youngstown made only six field goals the entire game. Kaili Lukan led the way with 14 points as Green Bay improved to 24-4 and 14-1 in conference play.
