GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — An autopsy has been performed on the man found dead on the UW-Green Bay campus early this week.
Police Captain Ben Allen says they’re still waiting on the results.
“This certainly was a challenging autopsy, because we don’t have an identification yet,” Allen told WTAQ on Friday.
While police aren’t sure who the victim is, they believe he is from the Northeast Wisconsin area.
Police are hoping the autopsy results will be able to connect to medical records on the victim. They’re also looking through missing persons reports throughout the state.
Police add they’ve received a number of good leads from members of the public.
The man was found dead after firefighters were called out to a report of a grass fire on the UW-GB campus early Tuesday morning. Police believe his death was a homicide.
