GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – It’s a wrap on the 2021 season for the Green Bay Farmer’s Market on Broadway.
Officials with ‘On Broadway’ say the summer draw isn’t quite back to pre-pandemic levels as far as attendance and vendor participation goes.
Still, On Broadway Executive Director Brian Johnson says 2021 was leaps and bounds ahead of how things played out in 2020. Many smiling faces.
“You know, they were really thrilled to be able to partake in some of these activities that really contribute to the quality of life in our community. From a vendor perspective I think it was sense of relief.”
Johnson says 2020 will be remembered as the year when the pandemic forced the market to move to Leicht Park. Scaled back vendors and a dramatic drop in customers.
But Johnson says that was then.
“People came back out and they’re supporting our vendors and businesses. And that’s a really positive thing.”
Pre-pandemic the vendor list totaled about 150. This year it was down to 100 because of spacing restrictions.
Attendance was slightly down from the 10 to 15 thousand people who typically show up on a Wednesday night.
