It’s celebrating 75 years as “friends of youth.”
On Friday, volunteers delivered 500 shirts for students and staff. The shirts say “we’re the best” and have the school’s mascot on them.
Since 2018, every Wednesday is t-shirt day at Howe. Everyone is encouraged to wear their Howe mascot shirt.
School officials say it creates a sense of toughness.
“These t-shirts mean a lot to the school community,” said Crystal Dubey, Howe Elementary School social worker. “So for the last two years, we have been blessed enough to get these t-shirts from the Optimist Club, and it creates a sense of unity and community for the school.”
In addition to this event, the Optimist Club volunteers help with reading and science programs at the school.
