SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Five people were arrested in a Sheboygan County undercover operation, targeting human trafficking and prostitution.
The suspects were arrested Thursday on a variety of charges, including pandering, soliciting and solicitation of prostitutes.
Two of the suspects are from Sheboygan County and the other three are from surrounding counties.
Investigators say the suspects were identified through popular, publicly available, websites that have been specifically generated for the purpose of connecting individuals for the purpose of arranging sexual encounters in exchange for money.
Authorities say if the situation dictates, they connect community resources to those who are at higher risk of human trafficking, domestic violence, physical assaults and other life changing and degrading outcomes.
